Peacefully passed away at his home in Loretto, with the love of his family by his side on August 25, 2026. John Blacklaws at the age of 84 years, beloved husband of Irene Blacklaws (nee: McIntosh). Loving father of Larry (Lynda), Mike (Christine), Terry, and Karen Grehan (Jamie). Sadly missed by his grandchildren Rebecca, Darren (Heather), Emily (Nick), Craig, Hannah (Jeremy), Kevin (Bita), and great grandson Jack. John is the dear brother of Margaret Bricknell (the late Tom), the late Janet Pickett (Jim), the late David, Heather Ann Adams (Dave), Donal (Christine), and James. A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday August 31, 2026 at 11am in St. Mary’s Church Achill 2458 Concession Rd. #4 Loretto ON, with interment taking place in St. James Cemetery Colgan. A Celebration of John’s Life with Reception will follow at Rod Abrams Funeral Home 1666 Tottenham Rd., Tottenham in the Cliffside Hall from 1-3pm.

Mitchell, Andrew ‘Andy’ Mitchell
It is with profound sadness at our loss that we announce Andrew has been reunited with his loving family. On Monday, August 10, 2026 at Southlake Health. Andrew in his 92nd year beloved husband of the late Dorothy Cunningham (nee: Earl). Loving father to his son the late Ian (Jacqueline) Mitchell and father of Anne (the late son-in-law Ian) Finch.
Sadly missed by his caring grandson Keagan and his granddaughters Morag (Vince) and Helen (Kevin) and his five great-grandchildren.
Fondly remembered by his niece, Diane (Ron) Blanchard, nephews Larry Gough, the late Billy Gough and Andrew (Lowise) Gough as well as their families in Syracuse, New York.
Forever in the hearts of his extended family and friends.

Andy was a kind and caring man with the cutest giggle and the brightest blue eyes. He was always ready to lend a hand and help out anyone in need. Andy was the youngest of seven born in Glasgow, Scotland to Andrew and Jean Mitchell. At around the age of 20 he moved to Canada and shortly after met his wife Dorothy. He started out as a meter reader for the gas company and often told many funny stories about his time on the job.
He later got a job with Rheem Canada selling water heaters. This is the career that would define Andy.
His friendly, helpful and bubbly personality made him very successful at his job. Rheem swag could be found all around their house as well as their trailer in Buckhorn. Even though Andy retired more than 27 years ago from Rheem Canada, he would still proudly wear his Rheem windbreaker heading out for dinner or a walk. He would kill a fly with his Rheem fly swatter or open a letter with his Rheem letter opener. Many of his friends and family probably had the same fly swatters and letter openers.

Andy was known for always wearing a cap, usually tartan or Tweed. Even in the long-term care home he had his collection of hats lined up on hooks along the wall so that he could easily choose which one to wear each day. Andy loved dancing with his wife Dorothy and playing hockey using mini sticks with his son Ian. He loved growing tomatoes and was quite successful at it.
Andy loved a good game of cards. He had an uncanny ability to know who had what in their hand, making it very difficult to win against him. While playing cards, he would often break into song. He knew the funniest songs. As he grew older and his memory faded, he was still able to sing all of his favorites.
Music was one of his great loves, but his greatest love of all was his family.

Cremation has taken place. A Graveside Service will be held at Resthaven Memorial Gardens (2700 Kingston Rd., Scarborough, Ontario) on Saturday September 12, 2026 at 2:30pm. Prentice: Kenneth Allan “Ken”

It is with deep sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Kenneth Allen “Ken” Prentice at Sunnybrook Hospital on August 13, 2026, at the age of 68, peacefully with his loving family by his side.
Ken was the beloved father of Jessica (Vince), Jeff (Cortney), and Nathan (Julie), and a cherished grandfather to Katelyn (Kyle), Julia, Samantha, Owen, Olivia, Aria, Valerie, Gabriel, and Jameson.
He will be dearly missed by his siblings Doug (Adair), Kathy (the late Gerry), and Gord. Ken was predeceased by his parents, James and Bernice Prentice.

He will be forever remembered and lovingly missed by his nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Ken’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

The World has Lost a Legend

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Luciano Lisi on Thursday, August 13, 2026, at Royal Victoria Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

Beloved husband of 50 years to Melina Lisi (née Altomare). Luciano will be deeply missed by his loving daughter Stephanie (Ron) Littlejohn and his cherished granddaughter Ella.

He is now reunited in Heaven with his beloved son, Joseph.

Luciano will also be lovingly remembered by his brother Danny, and was predeceased by his brother Gianni.

Luciano will be remembered for the love he had for his family and the many memories he created with those closest to him. His presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will forever remain in the hearts of his family and loved ones.

Luciano will be fondly remembered by his niece, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Jones: Beverley ‘Bev’ Joyce

It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Beverley Joyce Jones (Payn) on Sunday August 9, 2026. Loving wife to the late Frederick (Bill) Jones (2023). Bev was born December 21, 1933 in Lachine, Quebec. The family moved to the east coast and she was raised in Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia. Bev attended teachers college in London, Ontario and had a fulfilling career with the TDSB teaching special needs children for 30 years. Bev is survived by 3 step sons Chris (Shelly 2021), Greg (Anne) and Steve (Marilyn). Grandy to Emily, Hannah, Katelyn, Alec and Jessica. GG to George, Henry, Mabel, Isadore and Ramona. Sister Elly (Don) and brothers David (Lesley) and Bob (Val). Bev will also be missed by many nieces and nephews. Bev would like to thank all her neighbours in Brampton and Alliston. Particularly Rev. Canon Darrell Wright for all his kindness to both Bill and Bev.

Milton Charles Bradley

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Milton Charles Bradley, who passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Southlake Regional Health Centre in Newmarket, Ontario. Beloved husband of Betty Bradley (nee: Williams) for over 58 years.

Milton will be lovingly remembered by his children, Chris and Shawn, and his grandson, Alexander. He was predeceased by his son, Paul Albert.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Robert William “Bob” Keogh on August 2, 2026, at the age of 57.

Beloved son of the late Agnes and Charles “Mickey” Keogh, Bob will be deeply missed by his loving daughter, Jaiden. Bob had a special place in his heart for his two beloved dogs, Bella and Dexter, who were cherished companions and brought him great joy throughout his life.

Although his passing was sudden, Bob leaves behind countless memories that will be treasured by all who knew him. His kindness, generous spirit, and the moments shared with family and friends will forever remain in their hearts.

KENNEDY, Patrick Lawrence
August 10, 1956 – March 14, 2026

Before his time, yet after a life of love, generosity, kindness, adventure, and music. Beloved son of Thomas and Ellen Kennedy; brother of Maureen, Michael (Patti Daley), and Eileen; predeceased by siblings Gretta and John (Marilyn Burnett); father of Roxanne Duncan; uncle to Carmen Gray, Jason Baker, Ryan Kennedy, Siobhan Kennedy, and Sam Allan.

Patrick was an accomplished musician and multi-disciplined tradesman with a passion for environmental sustainability, animal welfare, snowmobiles, motorcycles, and high performance cars.

Pat’s legacy will forever be in the hearts of his family and his many longtime friends. On Patrick’s behalf, we, his family and friends, want to thank the staff at Memory & Company Oakville for their loving care and compassion over the past four years.

Jack Arthur McCague passed away peacefully at Hospice Simcoe in his 83rd year, following surgery for cancer at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto and treatment at the Royal Victoria Hospital  Hudson Regional Cancer Centre in Barrie, Ontario.

Jack is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Rita Simone McCague (née Boissonneault), and by his adored granddaughter, Madilynn (Maddy) Constance McCague, who lovingly called him “Pa.”

Jack will be lovingly remembered by valued friends Laura and Kailey (Sebastien); by his sisters Linda (predeceased by Ross), Cathy (predeceased by Melvyn), Carol, and Laurie (Tom); by many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins; by sisters-in-law Sue (Tim) and Shirley (predeceased by Gord); and by brother-in-law Pat (Janet). Jack was predeceased by his sister-in-law Monica.

Jack was the only son of Mary Amy Wauchope McCague and Kirwood McCague. With his parents and sisters, he spent his formative years on the family farms on the 8th and 9th Lines of New Tecumseth. During these years, a cherished lifelong bond developed between Jack and his cousin, William Donald Lilly KC, FSA Scot.

Jack lived with “Donnie” and his aunt and uncle, Freda and Lloyd Lilly (Kirwood’s sister and her husband), while attending university in Toronto, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in English.

Jack and Donnie were each other’s best men at weddings held just five weeks apart in 1972. Their brides, Rita and Marney, embraced and treasured their relationship. In retirement, the four  often joined by Maddy spoke many times each month across the Atlantic by phone and enjoyed memorable visits to England.

After graduating, Jack joined the CIBC head office, where he rose quickly to the executive level. He and Rita moved to North Toronto, where they raised their two young sons, Jason and Jordan. In 2003, Rita and Jack moved to Midhurst, where Jack pursued a very successful career as a Realtor with Royal LePage, Alliston.

Jack was an optimistic, loyal, kind, faithful, and loving man who faced change and tragedy with remarkable dignity and courage. At the age of 25, he lost his father, Kirwood. In 1976, Jack and Rita suffered the heartbreaking loss of their infant son, Matthew, and in 2019, the loss of their son, Jordan.

Jack’s son Jason and his family live independently in Oakville.

The pride and joy of Jack’s final decade was his precious granddaughter, Maddy. Following the tragic deaths of her parents, Jordan and Tara, in 2019, Jack and Rita lovingly secured guardianship of Maddy and devoted themselves to her care.

Jack died as he lived: with dignity, courage, and the grace of a true gentleman. He was supported by Rita and Maddy, and by the extraordinary, selfless, capable, and loving care provided by Sue and Tim.

Rita and Maddy extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff and volunteers at Hospice Simcoe, who provided such outstanding care and comfort to Jack.
