On March 8, at the Transform: Justice event, Harvard Law School publicly released for free the digital scans of 40 million pages of state and federal court decisions, comprising some 40,000 books of case law, with some decisions dating back to before the ratification of the U.S. constitution.

The release was the culmination of The Caselaw Access Project, announced by Harvard in 2015 and spearheaded by the Harvard Library Innovation Lab, itself a part of the Harvard Law School Library.
