Canadian mergers and acquisitions lawyer Walied Soliman is taking on his second term as global chair of Norton Rose Fulbright, the firm announced Thursday.

Soliman, who has been chair of the firm’s Canadian arm since 2017, previously served as global chair in 2019. He takes on the one-year term as chair, which the firm described as an “ambassador” role, at a time when the firm has seen a number of exits in its global management team, including the sudden departure of global CEO Gerry Pecht last September.
