Davis Polk & Wardwell partner Jason Kyrwood and professional development manager Carolina Fenner walked jurors through the firm’s processes for evaluating associates and assigning work Wednesday, the second day of testimony in a former associate’s retaliation case against the firm.

Kyrwood said he reviewed former associate and plaintiff Kaloma Cardwell’s performance in May 2015, less than a year after Cardwell began working at Davis Polk. Cardwell was the only Black male in the class of Davis Polk associates starting in 2014.
