Throughout 2022, the topic of “quiet quitting” repeatedly appeared in headlines, Instagram stories and TikTok feeds, signifying a trend that was echoing through workplaces globally. This phenomenon emerged in the wake of the “great resignation,” signifying a shift from outright quitting to passive disengagement in business settings.

As we’ve made it through 2023 and are now into 2024, the media and influencers have been oddly, well, quiet about quiet quitting. Does this mean that the commotion has genuinely led to substantial changes in the workplace? Unfortunately, I don’t think so.
