A pharmacy benefit manager facing upcoming trials over its role in the opioid crisis has moved to disqualify Motley Rice, citing alleged ethical violations tied to confidential information the law firm received through government subpoenas.
In a Friday motion, Alston & Bird’s Brian Boone, representing OptumRx Inc., referenced Motley Rice’s role as outside counsel for Hawaii, Chicago and the attorney general of the District of Columbia, all of which have investigated or sued the United HealthCare-owned pharmacy benefit manager.
