Former Coinbase project manager Ishan Wahi pleaded guilty Tuesday to two counts of conspiracy to commit wire fraud in Manhattan federal court, one day after his attorneys filed a motion to dismiss the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s complaint against him in Washington state’s U.S. district court.

During his allocution, Wahi noted that he relied on the assertions of Coinbase and others that the cryptocurrency tokens at issue in the case were not securities.
