The New York State Unified Court System has an active caseload of more than 453,000 pending civil, criminal felony and Family Court cases, a 15% increase compared to the end of February 2020, just prior to the onset of the pandemic, when the combined workload was just shy of 393,000 pending cases.

The numbers, which the court system provided to the New York Law Journal this week, are as of June 20, the latest figures available.
