The Mississippi Department of Human Services named 38 defendants, including former NFL star Brett Favre and former WWE star Ted DiBiase Sr., in its complaint alleging over $20 million in funds had been diverted by the defendants from an anti-poverty program and used for “personal enrichment.”

According to the filing, the MDHS sued for the return of the public funds to the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families anti-poverty program. The department is responsible for administration of the funds under TANF, a federally funded, federally authorized program to combat poverty.
