An advocacy group representing assistant U.S. attorneys is pushing the U.S. Justice Department to embrace remote work, even after the pandemic subsides, pointing to the legal industry’s overall shift toward more flexible work arrangements.

The group, the National Association of Assistant United States Attorneys, is asking the Justice Department to allow federal prosecutors across the various U.S. attorney’s offices and Main Justice to work from home at least two days a week on a permanent basis. The organization said DOJ has allowed individual U.S. attorney’s offices to adopt varying approaches to telework work, even though leadership has implemented departmentwide guidelines during the pandemic.
