The results of a public information request with the Massachusetts Office of Consumer Affairs & Business Regulation showed details of information potentially compromised by the breach of a data file transfer platform used by many law firms, including Foley & Lardner and Goodwin Procter, earlier this year.

The hacking of Accellion’s File Transfer Appliance (FTA) in December 2020, which was disclosed in January, potentially exposed the Social Security numbers, addresses and other personal information of over 100 people in Massachusetts, according to filings made by Foley and Goodwin with the state, disclosed as part of a FOIA request by Law.com.
