Shearman & Sterling has appointed project development and finance partner Alexandro Padrés to lead its Latin America affinity group, which was steered for nearly three decades by Antonia Stolper.

The designation is part of the firm’s succession planning that has been in process for over a year to ensure an orderly transition as Stolper steps down from the partnership. She will continue to advise clients in the region in an of counsel role.
