Remembered as a lawyer’s judge who had empathy for lawyers and clients alike, Superior Court Judge Trial Referee Jonathan Kaplan has died.

Kaplan, who was appointed a Superior Court judge at the age of 39 in 1985, served on the bench until 18 months ago when he stopped hearing cases. Kaplan was 75 and died April 23 at his South Windsor home. The cause of death was not available at press time.
