Almost a year after its major merger in the Midwest, Lathrop GPM has created a new leadership role—chief client officer—meant to oversee major marketing initiatives and client feedback.

Lathrop GPM is one of the latest firms to introduce the role. Its announcement on Thursday came the same day that Norton Rose Fulbright also said it was creating a chief client officer position. The C-suite level roles have become increasingly popular in the Am Law 200, as clients expand their in-house departments and add to the list of demands they require from outside counsel.
