For years, lawyers took it as an article of faith: “Nothing settles until the eve of trial.” Young lawyers were told, “Cases always settle on the courthouse steps.”  

And then COVID-19 hit, and on March 14, 2020, jury trials came to a screeching, unprecedented halt across Georgia.
