Gide Loyrette Nouel and Bird & Bird have advised Total and PSA Peugeot Citroën on the creation of a multibillion-euro joint-venture to produce batteries for electric vehicles.
Saft, a subsidiary of Total, and Opel, a subsidiary of PSA, are the partners in ACC (Automotive Cell Company), which is backed by the French and German governments and the European Union under a program to develop the electric battery sector in Europe to challenge Asian dominance.
