The launch of Chevron Technology Ventures in 1999 marked a major commitment to leverage external innovation to deliver the affordable, reliable and ever-cleaner energy the world needs. Now, as we begin our 26th year, CTV is launching its next venture capital fund – the $500 million Future Energy Fund III. As I shared Tuesday at the BloombergNEF Summit in New York, FEF III will bring together the scaling capabilities of Chevron with transformational innovations from leading early-stage companies driving the future of energy. Building on the successes of its two predecessors, first launched in 2018, this new fund is CTV’s largest to date and will focus on industrial decarbonization, mobility, energy decentralization and the growing circular economy. This series of funds complements CTV’s long-standing Core Energy venture funds, which target advancements in Chevron’s core energy businesses. It’s an exciting time for CTV, where we continue to advance early-stage innovation in support of a lower carbon future.

Last week, Chevron reported our first quarter earnings, which reflected strong operational and financial results and superior shareholder returns. https://lnkd.in/g6Q38aqZ We achieved our highest-ever first quarter production, driven in large part by strong base business performance, Permian output, and the acquisition of PDC Energy.
