Help fund my dissertation

Hi, all! My name is Christopher Irving, and I am an assistant professor of media studies, a dad, comic book historian, father, and PhD student. My defense on my dissertation is due for next summer, and I still have a lot of work to do on my research into Superman as a media figure--with a heavy focus on the radio show, which I feel has been undervalued in studying the Man of Steel's history.

So far, I've spent some extra earnings from summer classes on buying reprint books of the comic books and strips, as well as several MP3s of the radio show. I could really use some help to get through the next semester's worth of expenses, however:

I have a trip this December to California for further research, some more books to track down and buy, and a possible day trip to Washington, D.C.. Anything you can pitch in will help fund those things.

I've also made a ton of cool swag with Mike Allred's comics character Madman, and am happy to send you those or any of my trading cards in return. Either way, I plan on keeping you all updated as I get closer to wrapping this up amidst an already busy school year.
