It’s hard to believe that the holidays are already here as we close out another year. Wow, where has the time gone? In any case, this time of year is, for many, the “season of giving.” Here at Citrix, we’ve embraced that with one of our fastest growing product lines — Citrix Analytics. Quarter after quarter, new insights and capabilities enable our Citrix DaaS, VDI, and Workspace customers to realize immediate, tangible value. In this blog post, I want to focus on innovations we delivered in Q4 for both Security and Performance Analytics. There’s quite a few, so let’s jump right in.

Analytics for Security

Generic SIEM Integration — This allows security data to flow seamlessly to popular SIEM platforms such as Microsoft Azure Sentinel, Elastic Search, and others. The integration enables security admins to export Citrix Analytics for Security risk insights and user profiles summary, and correlate this information with non-Citrix IT data for deeper threat hunting.

Azure Sentinel Workbook — Citrix Analytics for Security dashboards for Sentinel enable you to review customer risk insights and user profile data, create new custom views, and correlate with logs and event data flowing from other IT products.

Malware Detection for Files — Alerts and actions are available for users who upload infected files within Citrix Content Collaboration. Details such as malware name and exact file location are also included. New actions are also provided, which include the ability to “disable a client user” and “remove access to a shared folder.”

APAC Control Plane — For customers operating out of the APAC region, we now have the Security Analytics control plane available there, helping to address compliance and performance needs for many customers.

New Templates for Risk Detection — This helps admins getting started with Citrix Analytics by providing a great foundation for common use cases like defining risk indicators for conditions such as unauthorized virtual apps, unsupported Citrix Workspace app version, or unauthorized operating systems.

Prescriptive Actions for Risk Indicators — We realize it can take time to look up actions and risks throughout your environment, so we now provide prescriptive actions for three popular risk detections. This helps to save time and improve overall security posture.

Citrix Analytics for Performance

Session Timeline View — This provides granular visibility into session experience and impacting factors. It allows admins to clearly see which part of a user’s session was subpar, what that trend looked like, and the specific factors that influenced it. These are very helpful data, provided in an easy-to-consume format!

Service Continuity Visibility — Service continuity is a resilience feature that allows users to connect to apps and desktops during Citrix Workspace and/or Cloud Delivery Controller outages. Analytics now shows how many sessions were launched in outage mode so admins can ensure the feature is working as expected and can keep users productive.

Gateway Service Visibility* — For customers taking advantage of the turnkey Citrix Gateway Service, Citrix Analytics now displays connector names and Gateway Service PoP information at the session level.

Connector Performance Info* — Connectors for the Gateway Service are critical components. If their resource utilization is constrained in any way, it can  result in performance issues for users. Now a timeline view is available that shows the CPU, memory, and bandwidth of the connectors.

ISP Visibility — With a large portion of the workforce logging on from home these days, having a reliable internet connection with sufficient bandwidth is key. Analytics now shows the ISP name for known providers to help correlate which providers are associated with specific session experience scores.
