John Charles Hamm

FORT WORTH-John Charles Hamm, better known in the rodeo world as “Pork Chop”, passed from this life on Wednesday, September 26, 2018, after a long illness.
Memorial service: Arrangements are pending at this time.
John was born in Fort Worth, Texas on July 28, 1939 and began breaking and training horses at the age of 14. John was a member of the CRA (Central Rodeo Association) and worked for Roland Reid and Bernis Johnson as a rodeo pickup man and livestock truck driver helping to put on rodeos in Texas and other parts of the United States. His wife, Daphne also helped with the rodeos, working as a team to help with the shows. John will be deeply missed in the rodeo world and by his many friends.
Survivors: John is survived by his wife, Daphne Hamm; three sisters, Johnnie Fay Alsup, Wanda Hamm and Barbara Perreault; brother, James Hamm; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
