Citrix responded in a record-breaking way in 2020 to support global nonprofit charities. Citrix provided support to more than 2,000 global nonprofits that make a lasting impact in local communities. Employees gave in support of COVID-19 relief, social justice, and other fundraising campaigns, and Citrix provided grants to hundreds of global nonprofits.

Making Change Happen

Highlights of the impact of Citrix’s corporate social responsibility efforts in 2020 included:

  • More than 14 million nutritious meals provided to those experiencing food insecurity. Citrix partnered with Feeding America, the Global Foodbanking Network, the World Food Programme, Interfaith Food Shuttle, Second Harvest Food Bank, Feeding South Florida, Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina and Canada Food Bank.
  • Close to 600,000 youth supported through digital learning, training, and STEM education opportunities.
  • More than 225,000 medical supplies, including masks and PPE equipment, donated to local hospitals.
  • Supported more than 25,000 individuals from underrepresented communities.

COVID-19 Relief and Recovery Program

To make the greatest impact with this COVID-19 Relief and Recovery Program, we strategically supported families and children with the essentials, including food, shelter, medical, and educational needs.

We accomplished this by expanding our employee matching program and through giving grants to local nonprofits in the communities in which we live and work. In addition, we supported some large strategic partners to make bigger investments and assist efforts like Girls Who Code and the Museum of Discovery and Science to transition their content to virtual platforms. The videos below feature some of our community partners from around the world.

Racial Equity and Social Justice Campaign

Citrix employees responded in record numbers to support the social justice causes they were passionate about. Our community outreach campaign included:

  • Sponsorships and Citrix internships with black and brown students in partnership with the nonprofits INROADS and the United Negro College Fund.
  • Grants to nonprofits supporting STEM education and access to technology for underserved minority youth.
  • An Adopt-A-School initiative supporting minority K-12 schools in locations where our Black Professionals Network (BPN) members can play an active role through mentoring and virtual volunteering.

Simply Serve

Given the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, our typical Global Day of Impact volunteer campaign morphed into a virtual volunteer program. Citrix employees supported 134 nonprofits across their communities and conducted 30 meaningful initiates to give back virtually. From making masks and face coverings for local hospitals, to running 5Ks for virtual fundraisers, to building prosthetic hands for children in underserved communities, everyone involved made a difference in the lives of those in need.

“Making prosthetic hands was a profound and moving experience,” said Angie Au Yong, VP and Chief Compliance Officer. “As we put the small parts together for this rather ‘rustic’ prosthetic hand, testing the grip and feeling the comfort level of the strap, we realized how a working hand is a life changing experience for the recipient as well as the volunteer. In life, we have taken many things for granted — like having a functioning hand.”
