Corporate social responsibility (CSR) has long been at the core of Citrix culture. We believe that it is important to make a commitment to positive change on a global level and in communities where our employees live and work. To this end, Citrix’s Raleigh location has stepped up its CSR efforts. And through the Citrix corporate initiative and record giving from employee donations, distributed $730,000 in direct support to over 60 Raleigh regional non-profit organizations this year.

The organizations we support not only exemplify meaningful community change and action, they display the true values Citrix believes in — integrity, respect, curiosity, courage, and unity. Let’s take a look at a few of our partners and the great work they do.

Racial Equity and Social Justice

Communities in Schools of Wake County (CIS Wake)
CIS Wake helps schools remove the barriers that put students at risk of not fulfilling their potential by building relationships with community stakeholders, including Citrix Raleigh, to bridge gaps that are critical to the success of K-12 students, including access to academic support, technology, mentors, basic needs, and enrichment opportunities.

Kramden Institute
The mission of the Kramden Institute is to provide technology tools and training to bridge the digital divide. Their core program, Kramden Tech Scholars, provides students grades K-12 who do not have access to a home computer with a free, refurbished computer. Through funding provided by Citrix Raleigh, Kramden was able to expand their services, and more specifically collect, prep, distribute, and provide program evaluation and technical support for their recipients.

Empowering the Workforce of the Future

Teach for America
The Teach for America Eastern North Carolina division initiated a project with Code the Dream to develop curriculum content specifically to support beginning teachers engaging with students in a virtual setting. More than 15,000 students served by 275 teachers from Teach for America Eastern North Carolina will benefit from having teachers who have access to this resource and are able to focus their energies on delivering higher quality instruction and support.

Public Health and Housing

Oak City Cares
Oak City Cares serves those experiencing homelessness in Wake County, North Carolina. The primary and overarching goal of Oak City Cares is to make homelessness in our community rare, brief, and non-recurring. Oak City Cares provides an array of services including their Basic Needs Program, which provides guests with access to showers, laundry, a hospitality area with coffee, and computers and cell phone charging stations. During the COVID-19 pandemic, restrictions on use forced the need for mobile shower units. Through its partnership with Citrix, Oak City Cares was able to provide them and help lessen the potential for spread of the virus in the homeless community in Wake County.

COVID-19 Response

Significant donations were made to organizations who serve the communities seriously impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Inter-Faith Food Shuttle
The mission of the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle is to pioneer innovative, transformative solutions designed to end hunger in our community. The organization is actively addressing the alarming lack of food access, caused by COVID-19, for families and children across the seven-county service territory around Raleigh.

In the month following the launch of their emergency response programs in March 2020, they served an estimated 40,000 individuals — 61 percent of the number served in all of 2019. Through the donation from Citrix, they were able to expand from producing 5,000 individual meals and 800 family-sized meals per week to 15,000 family-sized meals per week.

Continuing Community Partnerships into 2021

Citrix Raleigh will continue to collaborate closely with our partners to make a meaningful impact in our communities. In 2021, we are focusing on ensuring that children affected by the COVID-19 pandemic continue to receive meaningful education and have a bright and bountiful future.
