Crash with car in Farmington Hills kills bicyclist

Farmington Hills Police are investigating an investigating an accident that killed a bicyclist Friday night.

The accident occurred at about 10:50 p.m. on 8 Mile near Grand River , officials said.

A preliminary investigation found a 48-year-old Livonia man riding a bike and the vehicle involved in the accident were both traveling west on 8 Mile when the bicyclist turned into the vehicle’s path, police said.

The bicyclist was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival, according to authorities.

Police said it does not appear alcohol or drugs were a factor in the collision.

They are not releasing the name of the victim at this time.
