A slip 'n slide as long as two football fields turned Ann Arbor into a giant sprayground Saturday.

Hundreds turned out to ride the 600-foot water slide located at State and Packard.

Tickets to ride the slide, which will be open until 5 p.m., are sold out, according to the attraction's operator, Salt Lake City-based Slide the City.

A single ride was $15 for early registration and $24 for a ticket purchased the day of the event, according to Slide the City's web site. Three rides cost $30 and unlimited rides were $50 with early registration.

Riders are required to use an inflatable tube to slide down the titanic water slide.

The company plans to roll out its giant, vinyl water slide in other Michigan cities this summer, including Flint, Detroit, Lansing and Grand Rapids. Its slide can be stretched out to as long as 1,000 feet, or three football fields, in some locations.
