DOJ Responds to Sanction Threats Over Immigration Arguments

"By way of explanation and not excuse, we are short-staffed in the Orlando Civil Division, which exacerbates our ability to confront this challenging docket," reads the response from U.S. Attorney Gregory W. Kehoe for the Middle District of Florida and Assistant U.S. Attorney Joy Warner, who asked U.S. District Judge for the Middle District of Florida Roy B. Dalton to weigh the “extremely challenging (indeed, unprecedented) environment for civil AUSAs to operate in" when considering whether to impose sanctions.
