Power resumed: Line issue fixed, Movement back on track

After a mid-afternoon ticketing crunch resulted in long lines and left some fans feeling heated during Movement's first day on Saturday, the issues were resolved and it was back to business as usual at the festival on Sunday.

Organizers sent emails to every ticket holder, posted on articles written about the mishap, changed the ticketing app and laid out a new plan for entry on Sunday that had people breezing into Hart Plaza.

Sue Reti of Detroit, who was so frustrated with the ticketing situation Saturday that she skipped the festival rather than waiting in the hour-plus lines to get in, sailed through the gates on Sunday after the VIP entry was moved to a new location.

Sunday's lineup of performers includes Hudson Mohawke, Danny Brown and Dog Blood, and a performance by Juan Atkins' Model 500 project.

Saturday afternoon's entry hiccup was caused by a newly implemented ticketing system as well as an unexpected influx of walk-up ticket buyers. When fans were forced to wait in long lines that were described as disorganized and confusing, some posted angry messages on the festival's official Facebook page (which were later deleted, breeding more anger), causing organizers to release a statement overnight Saturday.

"We'd like to thank you for your support and want to thank you for the biggest opening day in Movement history; however ticketing technology has changed and there were some challenges with our first day," the statement read. "We want to let you know that we are very much aware of some of the wait times some of you may have experienced entering yesterday's event and we thank you so much for your patience."

Movement, the 16th annual Memorial Day weekend electronic music festival, wraps Monday with a headlining performance from Snoop Dogg, playing as DJ Snoopadelic.
