As the United States faces a growing housing shortage — particularly among military veterans — Scottsdale Construction Systems, an SFIA member, is showcasing how advanced building technology can offer lasting solutions. At METALCON 2025, to be held October 21–23, at the Las Vegas Convention Center, Scottsdale will lead a construction experience called Eagles Landing, a full-scale, 2,500-square-foot, cold-formed steel (CFS) framed barndominium that will be donated to Military Warriors Support Foundation.
“By combining cold-formed steel, advanced roll forming technology, and purpose-driven design and architecture, Scottsdale is helping build a full-scale steel home that will become a permanent retreat for veterans,” Scottsdale said in its post.
Eagles Landing is powered by Scottsdale Construction Systems, a global leader in steel framing and roll forming technology.
Powered by Scottsdale’s precision roll forming machines and built in collaboration with The Barndominium Company, Sheridan Metal Resources, The Expo Group and Evergreen Roofing & Construction, Eagles Landing will be assembled at METALCON, then shipped and reassembled in Hall, Montana, where it will serve as a rural retreat for combat-wounded veterans, a METALCON news release said.
At METALCON, attendees will be able to:
- Tour the structure
- Discover the materials, technologies and techniques used
- Learn about the mission behind the project
- Connect with the builders, designers and sponsors bringing it to life
The completed barndominium will include two bedrooms and two bathrooms.
The project is being delivered in collaboration with the Military Warriors Support Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting combat-wounded veterans and Gold Star families through payment-free homes and vehicles, life skills training, financial education and leadership development.
METALCON is the largest international event dedicated to metal in design and construction, bringing together professionals from across the industry for live demonstrations, educational sessions, and networking opportunities.
