Childhood Cocoon

There’s something tender and unbelievable about watching your children grow—not just older, but into themselves. The ones I once held in my arms now stand taller than me. They move through the world with a quiet confidence, unfolding like wings I always knew were there.

It reminds me of how a caterpillar disappears inside a cocoon and, without us really seeing it, becomes something else entirely. Beautiful, strong, and free.

Time passes quickly. Too quickly. One day you’re tying shoes and brushing crumbs off their cheeks, and the next, you’re watching them become who they are meant to be. It’s humbling. It’s a kind of quiet miracle.

And still, they are unfolding

And so are we.
