A stone’s throw from Cassis lies Bandol. The color of blue— Mediterranean, rising beneath me as I stand above the waves. One place, yet always changing, an endless invitation to beauty. Being here, even for a moment, the sea touches my far-off shores. I pause— my spirit soars.
An old miniature painting surfaced today—a woman kneeling beside an olive tree—and the image immediately evoked Gaza, especially now, in the season when olives should be gathered with eagerness and reassurance of livelihood.
