Museums on Us — Free museum admission to Bank of America customers one weekend a month

The first full weekend of every month, Bank of America and Merrill customers get into many museums nationwide for free. The Museum on Us program has been around for many years and is a great way to try out a new (or enjoy a favorite) museum for free at home or while traveling.

These are the Charlotte museums that are participating. Sullenburger Aviation Museum is the newest Charlotte museum to join the program!

  • Mint Museum Uptown
  • Mint Museum Randolph
  • Bechtler Museum of Modern Art 
  • Charlotte Museum of History (However it’s closed for the holidays through January 5, 2026, so not this month!)
  • Harvey B. Gantt Center for African-American Arts + Culture
  • Sullenberger Aviation Museum (new to the program in 2026!)

Bring a Bank of America/Merrill credit or debit card for admission.

Free admission in some cases excludes special exhibitions, fundraising events and ticketed shows. Free admission applies to the cardholder only.

However, if you are a Bank of America customer, take a look at the SafeBalance for Family Banking card. This is a debit card that you can get for your child at no cost, while maintaining parental oversight of the account. Then your child can also get free admission to the museums during the Museums for Us weekends. Learn more here.
