Wyndham Rewards promo: Stay 2-4 consecutive nights & earn 7.5k-15k points + 5k if cardholder

Wyndham Rewards launched a new promotion yesterday which has the potential to be fairly rewarding if you’re planning any paid stays with them in the next couple of months, with even more bonus points being awarded if you have one of their credit cards.

The Deal

• Wyndham Rewards is offering the following bonus points when staying with them:
  • Stay 2 consecutive nights – earn 7,500 bonus points
  • Stay 3 consecutive nights – earn 12,500 bonus points
  • Stay 4+ consecutive nights – earn 15,000 bonus points
  • Earn an extra 5,000 bonus points if you’re a Wyndham Rewards credit cardholder

Key Terms

• To qualify for this Wyndham Rewards bonus points offer (“Offer”), a Wyndham Rewards Member must:
  • first register for the Offer by completing the registration process on wyndhamhotels.com/wyndham-rewards, wyndhamhotels.com or any of the official brand websites of any participating Hotel Chain, or through the “My Promotions” section of their Wyndham Rewards Member account on wyndhamhotels.com/wyndham-rewards or the Wyndham Hotels & Resorts App, in each case, during the period that begins on May 20, 2024 and runs though and includes August 31, 2024 (any Member who registers in accordance with the foregoing requirements will occasionally be referred to in these Offer Terms as a “Registered Member”); then
  • after registering but no later than August 31, 2024, book a Qualified Stay that meets the applicable length of stay minimum described below at a Participating Hotel on any Direct Booking Channel (as defined below), and complete such stay by September 3, 2024 (the requirements set forth in this clause (b), collectively, the “Booking & Stay Requirements”).
• For purposes of these Offer Terms, “Direct Booking Channel” means:
  • www.wyndhamhotels.com/wyndham-rewards, wyndhamhotels.com or any of the official brand websites of the Hotel Chains;
  • the official toll free reservation number of Wyndham Rewards or any of the Hotel Chains;
  • onsite at a participating hotel, directly with such property; or
  • on the Wyndham Hotels & Resorts App.
• Offer not valid at hotels in China (including Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan) or Mongolia.
• Registered Members who are also Primary Cardmembers and satisfy the Booking & Stay Requirements for one or more stays will earn an additional 5,000 Wyndham Rewards bonus points after completion of their first such stay to earn a Promotion Bonus (an “Additional Bonus”). There is a limit of one (1) Additional Bonus per Primary Cardmember regardless of how many nights they consume in accordance with the Booking & Stay requirements.
• Notwithstanding anything to the contrary contained in these Offer Terms, each Registered Member who is not a Primary Cardmember may earn a maximum of 15,000 Wyndham Rewards bonus points, and each Registered Member who is a Primary Cardmember may earn a maximum of 20,000 Wyndham Rewards bonus points pursuant to this Offer, regardless of how many stays or nights such Member consumes in accordance with the Booking & Stay Requirements. This means that if a Registered Member completes more than one stay in accordance with the Booking & Stay requirements, the Promotion Bonus associated with the second stay will be an amount equal to 15,000 less the applicable number of bonus points set forth for the first stay pursuant to the chart above, and no bonus points will be awardable for any stays subsequent to the second stay.
• This Offer will only apply for up to two (2) separate stays completed in accordance with the Booking & Stay Requirements per Registered Member.
• Qualified Stays are subject to certain restrictions and do not include third party online bookings or free or discounted nights obtained with points; see the Program Terms for more information about Qualified Stays. The bonus points will usually be posted to an eligible Member’s Member account within two to four weeks following the completion of the applicable stay. For clarity, any stay that (a) is booked or consumed (in whole or in part) prior to registration for this Offer, (b) begins before May 20, 2024 and/or (c) ends after September 3, 2024, will not be counted towards this Offer. Members who have elected to earn airline miles in their Member profile will earn base miles in accordance with the Program Terms and any bonus points awardable pursuant to this Offer in the form of points.
• For the avoidance of doubt, Wyndham Rewards Business accounts are not eligible for this Offer.

Quick Thoughts

Wyndham is marketing this promotion as offering up to two free nights. Strictly speaking that’s true because the Wyndham Rewards program has three redemption tiers – 7,500, 15,000 or 30,000 points per night. If you earn 15,000 bonus points, that could get you two free nights at a property costing 7,500 points per night. With the majority of 7,500 point properties though, I imagine that very few readers would be willing to stay at one of those low category hotels and, even if they did, there’s a good chance that the room rate would be so low that it’d be a better choice to pay cash. However, there are some condo-style properties pricing out at 7,500 points, so those might be more appealing at that level.

Having said that, earning up to 15,000 bonus points for a paid stay is still a pretty good return. Just be sure to note that the nights have to be consecutive – staying one night at one property and one night at another won’t earn you the 7,500 bonus points for a two night stay.

A nice added bonus is that cardholders will – in theory – also earn 5,000 bonus points. Be sure to keep an eye on the number of bonus points you’re awarded though. With a somewhat similar promotion last year, Wyndham didn’t award my account with the cardholder bonus points. Despite sending them screenshots and links to the Wayback Machine showing the promotion that was in force, they repeatedly refused to do anything until I filed a BBB complaint. Hopefully the cardholder bonus points will automatically credit this year and so it’ll be a moot point, but just in case they don’t here’s a screenshot you can send them (and the BBB if necessary).
