Dream Path Quilt And More On Cards.

Let me share How to create Dream Path Quilts and More On Cards. Quilting with paper is a great way to use scrap paper.

Last month, for my customer appreciation, it was all about quilt cards and my Create On the Fly on Thursday nights. I was sent a picture of a quilt and challenged to create that pattern on a card. I love a good challenge, and Voila! This is the result.

The picture on the iPad on the left is the picture Scott sent me for a challenge, and the card on the right is the result of my take. From that, I created two more designs. See below for more cards.

How to Create A Dream Path Quilt On Cards

The video below was recorded during a live broadcast, “Create On The Fly.” I share how to make an easy pattern for the shadow block and assemble the card quilt.

Shadow Box Quilt Easy Pattern

Shadow Box Quilt Easy Pattern

A simple and easy way to create the shadow box. On a gride paper, I draw a 1″ square and 1-¼ but extend the line for a guide. Place the solid cardstock on the 1-¼ line and the designer paper on top at the 1″ line. I share in the video how to create this, and you will be amazed at how quick it is to assemble a dozen shadow blocks.

Dream Quilt, Shadow Block, Piccadilly…

The big question is, what is the name of this pattern? I got many responses, like the Dream Quilt, Shadow Block, and Piccadilly. So, whatever you want to call it, go for it. I went with the name Dream Quilt just because we can dream of any name 🙂

Dream Path Quilt On Cards.

This is the one I created during the video.

Measurements

  • Night Of Navy 11 x 4-¼ score at 5-½ card base, ⅝ x 2-¾
  • Countryside Inn Designer paper 15 of 1″ x 1″ (12 in the front and three inside)
  • Smoky Slate 4-⅛ x 5-⅜, 15 of 1″ x 1″ (12 in the front and three inside), four strips of 3/16 (see video how I use the scrap)
  • Basic White 2 od 4 x 5-¼, ½ x 2-½

Inside, I stack 3 of the shadow block.

Shadow Block Quilt

I created these two cards after the video.
When I adhered to the square inside the card during the video, I imagined these patterns for a quilt, and here are my results.

Stack Shadow Box

I call this pattern the Stack Shadow Box.

Measurements

  • Basic White 8-½ x 5-½ score at 4-¼ card base, 4 x 5-¼, ½ x 2-½
  • Countryside Inn Designer paper 15 of 1″ x 1″ (12 in the front and three inside)
  • Smoky Slate 4-⅛ x 5-⅜, 15 of 1″ x 1″ (12 in the front and three inside),
  • Night Of Navy 4-⅛ x 5-⅜, ⅝ x 2-¾

I adhered the block on both sides for easy assembly and then stacked the center. To make it fit, I trimmed the tips on all four sides.

Easy Shadow Black

This is the easiest one. Adhere to each block first, then to the layer. Embossed with the folder of your choice. I used the Eyelet folder. (it will be released on May 1)

The measurements are the same as those of the Stack Shadow Box. The assembly is different, but all have the exact measurement.
