[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] On Friday, while we had sunshine (beautiful weekend – we went into Kent for the morning to walk Dora and it was glorious) I tested the brand new e.l.f. Bronzing Drops that launched on that very day. Every time e.l.f. releases anything new, TikTok goes into overdrive so I’m surprised that it hasn’t already sold out. I imagine the brand product developers and buyers have got good at predicting sales. Often, duping goes completely un-noticed by me – I don’t particularly like to see it to be honest because it’s creative theft but at the same time, trends are followed by everyone (at beauty brands) and the lines are always somewhat blurry. In any case, we are asked to pay an awful lot for products that cost fractions of pennies to make so when I spotted that Bronzing Drops, £12, were being closely compared to Drunk Elephant Bronzing Drops, £34, I felt comfortable with it – why shouldn’t products be more accessible?

e.l.f. Bronzing Drops

You use the bronzing drops either to add warmth and glow to an existing product, or straight to the face for more of a summery skin look. I used e.l.f. Bronzing Drops in Rose Gold with bareMinerals Complexion Rescue and sure enough, it warmed it up and added lustre to my skin. It’s not as hugely pigmented as you might think – it feels like a serum on the skin and I’d say it’s more of a bonne mine look than a statement look. If you prefer your glow to be controllable, these drops are for you.

This is two drops of e.l.f. Bronzing Drops (which contain vitamin E, sunflower oil, marula oil and raspberry seed oil) unblended.

You can see, once blended, it’s quite light and unobtrusive – obviously, more drops means more pigment but Rose Gold seems to be ideal as a starting point especially if you have lighter skin tone.

These are screen grabs from the Instagram reel I made on Friday so don’t take too much notice of the excessive filtering going on here – once I grab the pictures, they lose a lot of definition so I can assure you I haven’t had a secret facelift or used a bit of Vaseline on the lense. e.l.f. Bronzing Drops are HERE in three shades – Rose Gold, Copper Gold and Real Gold. A bit of bad news just as I’ve checked the stockist details – Rose Gold I sold out. It will be back in quick time I am sure.
