Create Quick Fun Fold Cards With Designer Series Paper Scraps

fun fold cards with designer series paper

Do you enjoy creating fun fold cards? Well I have a quick and easy fun fold to show you and the best part is you can use up those Designer Series Paper scraps you have laying around.    Pair any designer series papers you have laying around with the Heartfelt Hexagon bundle and you can create some quick cards for any occasion you have coming up.   The Inked Botanicals Designer Series Paper is on the retired list and will soon be gone as is the Heartfelt Hexagon bundle.  If you love these products you’ll want to grab them before they are gone for good.  The Hexagon punch will be in the new Annual Catalog, but the price has increased.   It is currently unavailable to order but is excepted to be back into the warehouse around April 22, so you can still get it at the current price before the new catalog goes live on May 1st.

These cards come together so quick you won’t want to stop at just one.  These fun fold cards take no time at all to cut, score, fold and decorate.   Are you ready to get started?  Go grab your cardstock, designer series paper, a sentiment stamp set, a punch or die set and let’s get started!

For my card bases I used the Thick Basic White cardstock 5 1/2″ X 8 1/2″ scored at 1 1/2″ and at 4 1/4″.   That’s pretty much it; then just fold your card in half at the 4 1/4″ score line and then fold the 1 1/2″ score line back.    My Designer Series Paper pieces are 2 1/2″ X 5 1/4″, 1 1/2″ X 5 1/4″ and 1 1/4″ X 5 1/4″.  Adhere the 2 1/2″ piece  to the left-hand side of your card front, the 1 1/2″ piece goes on the inside of your card on the right-hand side and the remaining 1 1/4″ piece goes on the front panel that was folded back.  Then just decorate as you like.

The blue dots on my card are actually from the Rainbow Adhesive-Backed Dots from the Mini Catalog, which have carried over into the new annual catalog.

The use of the paper strip under the sentiment punched piece is optional.  I just cut a 1″ strip of the Lost Lagoon cardstock and used my Hexagon punch to flag the ends.  To accent this piece I just added a few of the Iridescent Pearls.  I don’t know about you but this designer series paper on the front and the way my sentiment is reminds me of the cross; so you could easily make some quick Easter cards using this fun fold and pattern.

My Customer Appreciation for March:

stamping special ribbon holders

My 3D printer has been buzzing getting ready for this months customer appreciation special.  Do you have a spot or a way of storing your ribbon and twine spools?  If not check out this combo ribbon/twine storage system.  My combo ribbon and twine holder will hold up to 7 spools of ribbon depending on the size of the spool and 4 spools of twine or thread.  This is perfect to sit on your desk and keep your spools in order and upright or place on a shelf.

Do you have the White Open Storage Cube from Stampin’ Up! with the Topper Storage?  If not you can check it out on page 124 of the annual catalog.  This is a cube that you can store ink pads, ribbon, adhesives, small embellishments and more.  I’ve taken my ribbon storage system and made them to fit inside the cube and with the topper storage you have the space on top to hold my ribbon storage system as well. (check out what I’m talking about in the photo below.). Yes the bottom ribbon storage system has the twine/thread spool holder inside; you will just need to slide it out of the cube to get at the spools when needed.
