Role: US-based freelance News Writer (weekend availability preferred)
AndroidAuthority.com, part of the Authority Media group, is your source for authoritative content on the consumer tech industry, producing fast-breaking news, in-depth reviews, thought-provoking features, and much more. Beyond just Android — or mobile tech in general — we also cover computing, entertainment, wearables, smart home, display tech, audio, apps, and more.
We’re currently looking for a freelance News writer, working remotely but based in the US, to create news articles for our website. You will be required to produce news articles from start to finish, focused on the mobile technology landscape as well as Android Authority’s other verticals listed above.
The role requires expertise in the consumer technology space and demonstrable experience writing news content for a similar publication.
Role description
Location
United States (work from home). Only candidates from the United States will be taken into consideration.
Duties
Research, develop, and produce high-quality and authoritative content — from ideation to publication — in a timely manner, for our website.
Create, edit, and publish polished articles for Android Authority
Coordinate with editors on topics, schedules, and priorities.
Requirements
Demonstrable professional writing experience for similar publications to Android Authority
A collaborative attitude and strong self-motivation
A keen eye for detail and the ability to polish your own articles/self-publish
Comprehensive understanding of the terminology, tech landscape, and news cycles
A keen understanding of general SEO principles and experience working in WordPress
Native speaker or high level of fluency in written American English
Familiarity with consumer tech markets in the US.
Compensation and expected workload
Fixed fee per news article, negotiable. 4-6 articles per day.
More work will be available for the right candidate.
Disponibility to work weekends strongly preferred, but not mandatory.
