Lansing police search for robbery suspect

LANSING – Lansing police are searching for a suspect they say robbed a store on the city's south side Thursday evening.

Lansing police Sgt. Jeromy Churchill said a cashier at The Teacher's Store, 6001 S. Pennsylvania Ave., called police at about 6:45 p.m. to report a robbery in progress.

The suspect was described as a man dressed in dark clothing with his face covered, Churchill said, adding that witnesses could not provide more details. He was believed to be carrying some type of weapon. The man left on foot with an undisclosed amount of money, police said.

A canine track was unsuccessful, police said. Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
