Description

Hi!

About us
I run a home improvement site. Most of my articles focus on fixing appliances around the home or fixing plumbing issues.

Our audience is keen DIYers who enjoy Googling their problems, and being empowered to go and fix them. The articles are high quality, detailed practical step-by-step oriented.

Role Description

I am seeking an editor/writer who has plumbing experience (ideally a qualified plumber, but not a MUST).

This work involves editing around 40 articles within 2023, with the possibility of extending this to 2 - 4 articles/week in 2024.

Competitive pay, and will flex based on the applicant's experience and quality of writing. Willing to pay more for quality & experience.

Requirements

  • Be willing to be an author (this is not ghostwriting) with a bio on the website.
  • Have plumbing experience, with social proof to back this up.
  • English native speaker.
  • Have experience writing high-quality blog articles, with example work.
  • Conduct ORIGINAL research, and use your own practical knowledge to write.

Work Involved

  • Around 20 articles need editing before being published. The level of detail in these articles needs to improve, as does their accuracy.
  • I ALSO have around 20 well-written published articles that need to be 'expert reviewed'. This involves tweaking articles, correcting mistakes, and adding expert quotes.
  • For these articles, I'll feature you as a co-author.
  • For the right person, this could be an ongoing job into 2024, at a rate of 2 - 4 articles/week. Articles are usually around 1500 - 2000 words.

Next Steps

I’m looking forward to receiving your application. Even if you don’t meet all the requirements, I’d love to hear from you, and about why you might be a good fit.

Please tell me about yourself, your plumbing experience, your writing experience and a link to your social/ LinkedIn. I'd also like to see previous work with plumbing specific content.

We’ll start off with a couple of paid trials. I’ll provide a framework and structure on how I’d like articles written so that I can set you up for success.
