Job Title: Cigar Blog Content Writer

About the Project:
We are looking for an experienced writer to write blog content for a leading online cigar retailer that is dedicated to providing high-quality content, reviews, and insights about the world of cigars.

Are you a passionate cigar aficionado with exceptional writing skills? Do you deeply understand the cigar industry, from the finest blends to the history of this timeless hobby? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Cigar Blog Content Writer.
Responsibilities:
- Content Creation: Research, fact-check, write, and edit engaging and informative articles, blog posts, reviews, and guides related to cigars.
- Keyword Research: We will complete the keyword research for you and give you examples & templates of previously written blog posts. You will need to incorporate the key terms into each blog post naturally.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the editorial team to brainstorm ideas, plan content, and ensure a consistent voice and style.
Qualifications:
- A deep passion for cigars and a strong knowledge of cigar culture is a plus but not required
- Excellent writing and editing skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Strong research skills to produce well-informed content
- Familiarity with SEO best practices is a plus
- 3-5 years of previous writing or blogging experience is mandatory
Application Process:
- We will begin reviewing applicants starting 10/17/2023. Please submit a resume and a cover letter detailing why you would be a good fit for the project.
- Please provide at least 3 writing samples for high-quality blog work you have completed in the past
- Unpaid writing trial of approximately 500 words to determine if you would be a good fit
- We will have a 15-20 minute interview
- Paid writing trial for the first article of approximately 800 - 1,200 words
Compensation and # of Articles:
- $125 - $225 per article depending on experience. Most articles will be 1,000 words on average.
- 2 articles per month
