Melapress is a remote software startup that develops a number of WordPress security and administration plugins. Our plugins are installed on more than 400,000 websites and help website administrators and managers improve the security of their websites and better manage them and their users.
We are currently looking for a part-time expert copywriter to join our team. The role calls for someone to help us elevate our content and marketing efforts by producing all sorts of engaging copy, including emails, social media posts, adverts, video scripts, blog posts, and other types of content.

Your responsibilities
- Write accurate and engaging copy and blog articles for SEO to guide our users (and customers) on their journey in the most effective way possible.
- Edit existing website content to improve readability, SEO, and accuracy while keeping the content up to date.
- Edit product descriptions, buying guides, and support text throughout our website and marketing collateral.
- Become an expert on how our suite of products works and how customers use them.
- Keep yourself updated with current news about WordPress and its updates regularly.
- Working in a small but fast-growing team, other responsibilities (and development opportunities) may come along from time to time.
Requirements
- You should have at least 3+ years of copywriting experience.
- You are a passionate researcher, blogger, or copywriter who has a keen interest in technology and who knows WordPress inside and out.
- You take pride in your work, focusing on quality and serving readers with the knowledge they require in a way they understand.
- You’re great at taking technical concepts and translating them so that readers at all experience levels can comprehend them easily.
- You’re a self-starter who can solve problems and learn new skills, and you’re comfortable working with minimal supervision.
- You’re at least familiar with writing for SEO and eager to learn more to develop this skill.
- You’re located in Europe (CET +/- 2).
- You have writing samples of past WordPress writing which you can share with us and which are published online with your name.
