Child airlifted after reportedly striking vehicle in Hanover Friday

Minor injuries were reported, according to police, despite the need for a medical helicopter.

Minor injuries were reported after a child on a bicycle struck a vehicle on a Hanover street Friday evening, police said.

According to a release by Hanover police, the juvenile riding a bicycle struck a 2021 Nissan Versa, operated by Terry Faircloth, of Hanover, on the 500 block of East Walnut Street around 5:34 p.m. Friday in Hanover.

A Life Lion medical helicopter landed at nearby Moul Field and transported the child from the scene of the crash.

No towing was required, the release states.

Hanover Borough Police are investigating the incident.
