The branches are offering one per patron, and patrons who received the free glasses last year are not eligible for another.
A solar eclipse in 2024 is April 8, and solar eclipse eye safety tips are offered from NASA and American Astronomical Society. Several venues in Broward, Palm and Dade are offering watch parties.
The eclipse occurs when the sun is blocked by the moon.

Folks with a library card are eligible for the free glasses. Display your library card, or register for a card at a local library branch. It's free for eligible Broward residents, employees, students and others. Information and ID requirements are online.
