Location: Hybrid working arrangement, in office and remote options available within Ontario.

Voices is looking for a Search Engine Optimization (SEO) manager to drive organic traffic and improve our visibility in search results. The Channel Manager, SEO is responsible for developing and implementing effective SEO strategies to improve our website and content for search engines and ultimately deliver more helpful content to our users.

As the expert in keyword research and on-page and off-page optimization, you will work closely with members of the marketing and product/development teams to ensure our efforts align with best practices and drive results. This role reports to the Manager, Demand Generation.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough keyword research and analysis to identify high-potential keywords and opportunities for new content and optimization
  • Optimize website content, including browse pages, blog posts, tools, and other marketing pages to ensure they effectively target relevant keywords and adhere to best practices while delivering the best on-page experience for users
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to build and maintain a cohesive SEO strategy across marketing site content, blog, PR, and YouTube and audio content
  • Build high-quality backlinks to increase site authority and traffic
  • Collaborate with the development team to identify and implement technical SEO improvements, such as site speed optimization, schema markup, and indexing
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on performance using SEO tools and Google Analytics to track organic traffic, rankings, user engagement, competitor performance, and website health
  • Provide SEO guidance and best practices for product or other related marketing projects that may impact site structure or performance.

Required Skills

  • 2 - 3 years experience as an SEO specialist or manager implementing on-page and off-page SEO techniques, including keyword research, content optimization, link building, and technical SEO
  • Proficiency in relevant tools (e.g. Ahrefs, Google Search Console) and web analytics tools (e.g. GA4, Heap)
  • Previous experience  with a content management system such as WordPress
  • Familiarity with HTML, schema markup, and basic web design to effectively communicate with product and development teams
  • An analytical, growth mindset, with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to identify and prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, communicate with stakeholders, and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with a pulse on emerging trends and best practices

Educational Requirements 

  • BA or business diploma, with a focus in marketing
