CME milk futures & cash dairy lower Friday

Milk futures were lower in the near term and cash dairy prices were down Friday on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

June Class III milk was down $0.04 at $15.11.  July was down $0.10 at $15.97.  August was down $0.16 at $16.92.  September was unchanged at $17.79.  October through April contracts ranged from seven cents lower in March to ten cents higher in November.

Dry whey was unchanged at $0.2750.  Nineteen sales were recorded from $0.2750 to $0.28.

Cheese blocks were down $0.05 at $1.4225.  Eight sales were recorded from $1.4225 to $1.46.

Cheese barrels were unchanged at $1.57.  Four sales were recorded from $1.57 to $1.5750.

Butter was down $0.0075 at $2.3625.  Five sales were recorded, ranging from $2.3625 to $2.37.

Nonfat dry milk was down $0.0025 at $1.16.  Two sales were recorded at that price.
