A Chambersburg woman was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 81 in Franklin County on Sunday, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

The coroner pronounced Mollie F. Malloy, 56, dead at the scene about a half mile south of Exit 5 in Antrim Township.

State police responded to a report of a crash at about 5:17 p.m., according to a news release.

Malloy had been driving northbound near mile marker 4.5 in a 2009 Toyota Yaris when the vehicle left the road and, for an unknown reason, hit a PennDOT sign along the east side of the highway, police said.

The vehicle overturned and rolled an unknown number of times before coming to a rest on its roof in the middle of the northbound lanes, police said.
