One killed, seven hurt in Chambersburg crash

One woman died and seven people were hurt in a two-vehicle accident at 10:02 p.m. Friday, April 14, on U.S. 30 at the ramp to southbound Interstate 81, Chambersburg.

The woman, whose name has not been released, was a backseat passenger in a westbound Toyota Camry that turned left toward the ramp and into the path of an eastbound Dodge Ram 1500, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

The woman, who was thrown from the car, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Franklin County coroner.

The Dodge Ram rolled multiple times after the impact.

Police news

The driver and three other passengers from the Toyota and the driver and two passengers from the Dodge were taken to area hospitals for treatment.

State police were assisted by the Franklin Fire Department and EMS from St. Thomas, Fayetteville, West Short, Mont Alto and Marion.
