Holiday week-ends are filled with unique events and lots of excitement and fun. If you are Clay Aiken, the word busy should be in the mix too!
On Friday night, Clay attended the 89th Session of the Durham District Conference for Central North Carolina. The event was held at Mitchell Chapel A.M.E Zion Church in Pittsboro. According to Randolph S. Voller, the Chairman of the North Carolina Democratic Party, they were the guests of Rev. Anthony Davis and the presiding Elder Dr. L.A. Miller. Elder Miller invited 2nd Congressional District Candidate, Clay Aiken, and 12th Congressional District Candidate, Alma Adams to address the congregation.

On Saturday, Clay traveled to Taylortown, North Carolina to be a part of their Labor Day week-end celebration. I had never heard of Taylortown so I looked it up and found that this lovely community is in Moore County. According to the city website, in 2012, there were 786 residents of the town.
Taylortown celebrates Labor Day Week-end with three days of unique and exciting events. On Friday night, the celebration started with a dinner, dance and fashion show at the Southern Pines Elks Club.
At noon on Saturday, Clay Aiken participated in the Taylortown Labor Day parade. It looks like he was a popular part of the parade and stopped for many “selfies”.

After the parade, Taylortown had a cook-out with music and games. I wonder if Clay had time to enjoy some good food and music!

Whether or not Clay wins the election (and I surely hope he does, for the sake of District 2), it's absolutely heart warming seeing him in his element, connecting with the good folks of the state he loves so well, getting endorsements from prominent members of the community and respected politicians, eloquently advocating for what he believes in, and immersing himself in the charm, friendliness and wholesomeness of many small NC02 communities as he gets to know every area of the district he hopes to represent in DC. Thanks for the excellent coverage. I hope the voters realize the genuineness of his commitment to serve them and represent their nterests in DC.!
