Watch: Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin meets President Joe Biden at White House

Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin gained millions of fans across the world with his resilience after he went into cardiac arrest during a game earlier this year. One of his fans is President Joe Biden, who he got to meet Friday at the White House.

Hamlin continued his tour of Washington with a stop at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue to meet Biden, who is "looking forward to watching (Hamlin) lead the way back on the field" after he collapsed and was resuscitated during a Monday Night Football game on Jan. 2.

"I wish you the best of luck buddy. I really mean it. I'm a fan," Biden told Hamlin.

The duo tossed a football together in the Oval Office and Hamlin presented Biden with a custom No. 3 Bills jersey with the president's surname. Hamlin said he "couldn't wait to get here" after the president invited him to visit earlier this year.

"I told him when he was in the hospital, 'the president called and he wants you to come down.' And (Hamlin) lit right up," his father Mario recalled to Biden.

On Wednesday, Hamlin addressed lawmakers on Capitol Hill and advocated for the accessibility of automated external defibrillators for all student-athletes, the same device that saved his life.

“Every kid should have the same access to a lifesaving emergency response that I did, should they need it," said Hamlin, who was joined at the event by his younger brother, two cousins and parents, Nina and Mario.
