Emerging from a period of major transformation, healthcare organizations are innovating constantly to improve patient experiences and enhance clinician productivity, mobility, and collaboration, while battling an ever-evolving landscape of cyber threats, tight budgets, and staffing shortages.

Citrix with ChromeOS provides the foundation to help healthcare IT, doctors, clinicians, and frontline workers adapt to the changing dynamics of the industry, including hybrid and remote work. Building on years of collaboration, our solutions for health IT enable digital transformation by providing clinicians with instant access to patient information as they roam across facilities, devices, and networks.

Access Data and Apps Quickly and Securely with Citrix

To be effective, clinicians need to be able to easily access critical data and apps to better serve their patients. ChromeOS offers secure, easy-to-manage, and sustainable devices that integrate with modern healthcare apps and tools. A recent study by leading research firm IDC reports that ChromeOS users lower their three-year cost of operations by 44 percent while reducing security attacks by 24 percent. And Citrix integrates seamlessly with Chrome Enterprise, enabling IT to set up policies that are pushed to devices from the cloud. Because data isn’t stored on devices, healthcare organizations can also provide shared devices, enabling workers to select any device at the start of the day and return it when the day is done, or roam from room to room with a workstation on wheels.

ChromeOS devices take 10 seconds or less to boot, enabling teams to get right to work. They also provide 10 to 14 hours of battery life, allowing clinicians to complete their rounds without wasting time recharging their devices. Citrix DaaS can be configured to launch instantly upon sign in from ChromeOS devices, providing fast access to all the apps clinicians need. What’s more, by working with Imprivata, we have simplified the login process, giving time back to clinicians and securing patient data without added overhead for IT departments.

Apps and data follow staff as they move about facilities, reducing the need to continually log in or make unnecessary clicks.

Hackensack Meridian Health, a group of 17 hospitals employing over 34,000 in New Jersey, is one such health provider that chose ChromeOS to support its digital transformation. They use ChromeOS devices across ambulatory exam rooms and mobile workstations, and they rely on Citrix for access to its legacy applications, giving workers at home the same experience they have in the office.

Extended Collaboration with Goliath Technologies

Google and Citrix have extended their partnership to include Goliath as their validated monitoring solution vendor to help our joint customers to ensure a successful pilot and production deployment of ChromeOS devices when using Citrix.

Goliath’s all new performance monitor for ChromeOS is a purpose-built solution, provides a comprehensive view of Google ChromeOS device health, the Citrix Delivery Infrastructure, and end user experience — from the user’s perspective. The solution leverages embedded intelligence and automation to automatically discover your ChromeOS inventory, proactively alert on end user experience issues, and correlate metrics so IT professionals can anticipate, troubleshoot, and document root cause for permanent resolution.
