95th Nebraska FFA Convention continues in Lincoln

Nebraska’s State FFA Convention is an opportunity for members to showcase efforts that grow their leadership and help build communities.

Stacey Agnew, Executive Director of the Nebraska FFA Foundation, says state convention is the pinnacle event for many students’ FFA experience.

“They are participating in different competitive events, speaking events, career development events, and they are participating in sessions,” she said. “They are getting to celebrate their fellow FFA members’ successes where some will go onto national convention in October.”

She tells Brownfield nearly 12,000 student members participate in ag education and FFA in 209 chapters across Nebraska.

“These are chapters that are doing pretty awesome things,” Agnew said. “They are starting school-based enterprises, and they are doing outside community gardens where they are utilizing rain water as a form to irrigate.”

The 95th Nebraska State FFA Convention continues through Friday.
