14 minutes: Visual timeline of Nashville school shooting from break-in to police response

Nashville, Tennessee, remains in mourning and details continue to emerge in the Covenant School mass killing Monday, in which three teachers and three 9-year-old students died. The shooter was killed by police.

Nashville police on Tuesday released six minutes of body cam footage from officers confronting the shooter and about two minutes of video from security cameras that show the shooter walking in school hallways.

About 14 minutes elapsed between the first 911 call about an active shooter at the school and police confirming the shooter's death after an exchange of gunfire on the second floor.

Police identified the shooter as Audrey Elizabeth Hale, 28, a former school student, and said Hale identified as transgender. A motive remains unknown.

9:54 a.m.

The shooting suspect is seen in a campus security video driving a Honda Fit in the parking lot of the Covenant School, a private elementary school that is part of the Covenant Presbyterian Church in the neighborhood of Green Hills.

9:57 a.m.

Hale sends an Instagram message to Averianna Patton, a former classmate. Hale writes: "I'm planning to die today. You'll probably hear about me on the news after I die."

Hale also writes: "My family doesn't know what I'm about to do. One day this will make more sense. I've left more than enough evidence behind. But something bad is about to happen."

Patton calls the Suicide Prevention Help Line and Nashville police.

10:11 a.m.

A video camera records the shooter firing through a set of side entrance glass doors from outside. The shooter, carrying two assault-style weapons and a 9mm handgun, climbs through the broken glass and enters the school.

10:13 a.m.

Nashville Police receive a 911 call of an active shooter inside the Covenant School.

Security video shows the shooter carrying a weapon in a school hallway.

10:18 a.m.

Video shows the shooter entering a church office.

10:19-10:21 a.m.

Video shows the shooter, with weapon raised, walking in school hallways.

As police officers arrive, the shooter fires from a second-floor window at police vehicles below.

10:25 a.m.

Officers enter the building and check first-floor rooms on their way inside.

10:26 a.m.

Officers head to the second floor, taking two flights of stairs.

10:26:30 a.m.

Officers find the shooter near a window in a second-floor "lobby-type area." The shooter fires at them. Two officers return fire, hitting the shooter.

10:27 a.m.

Police confirm the shooter is dead.
